Appointment reminders can be customized by many factors including location, provider, appointment type, and in some practice management systems, even by appointment reason or purpose.

Below you will see examples of our recommended reminders for both the SMS and Email versions. Each message can be altered to meet your specific needs or to include special instructions such as numbing, arrival instructions, parking directions, etc.

SMS Defaults

  • 5 or 7 day message: Reminder: #patient#, your appt at #practice# is #when#. Visit #manage-url# to review and complete your forms, cancel your visit or to call our office. 

  • 2 or 3 day message: Reminder: #patient#, your appt at #practice# is #when#. Visit #manage-url# to finish your forms, confirm or cancel your visit or to call us.

  • 2 hour message: Reminder: #patient#, your appt at #practice# is #when#. Visit #manage-url# to finish your forms, to call us or to get directions. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Sample display:

Reminder: John, your appt at Main St Dermatology is Friday at 3pm. Visit <<Unique Visit Link>> to review and complete your forms, cancel your visit or to call our office. 

Email Defaults

A sample of how the email will appears below in the blue info panel and the code to generate each variation of the message is available further below in the code blocks. It is NOT advised to enable the “ask to confirm” option with these messages.

Sample display:

John,

Reminder: Your appointment at Main St Dermatology is Friday at 3pm.

To help prepare for your visit, please visit <<Unique Visit LInk>> to:

  • Review and complete your forms including reviewing or providing your contact and insurance information

  • Cancel your visit
